Administration and Scoring

Reusable student and teacher/staff survey booklets present statements that are responded to in a class period (students) or about 20 minutes (teachers and staff). Respondents mark separate answer sheets that are sent to Gottfredson Associates for optical scanning and scoring.

Reports

The SDI Student or Teacher Reports provide summary scores in each domain assessed and detailed tabulations of responses to individual items. For subgroups of 7 or more individuals, domain scores are reported separately by sex, ethnicity, grade level (students) or role (faculty/staff). Technical information, including standard errors used by evaluation specialists and confidence intervals for means is also provided.

District Reports compare schools within your district by providing results for individual schools.

The SDI is intended to assess schools and educational outcomes for groups. It is not intended for individual assessment. Therefore, the SDI reports do not present data for individuals. Data files of SDI scores are available for use by qualified research and evaluation personnel.

To Obtain Materials and Services

The SDI Preliminary Technical Manual is currently available for download. In order to view the file, you need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed in your computer.

To order materials and scoring for the School Diversity Inventory, complete the Order Form and Qualification Form and send them with a check, institutional purchase order, or credit card information to Gottfredson Associates, Inc. No SDI materials may be reproduced in any form without written permission from the publisher.
